Are you a recent graduate? Are you looking for work experience at the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Union's financing institution? If so, you may be interested in the FEMIP Internship Programme.
The Internship Programme is open to students who are nationals of the Mediterranean partner countries (Algeria, Egypt, Gaza/West Bank, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey). The goal of the Programme is to offer successful candidates an opportunity to improve their skills as well as the experience of working in an international multicultural environment.
To be
eligible for the Internship Programme, candidates must have a degree from or be in the final year of a course at an institute of higher education. Generally, successful candidates will have enrolled on a graduate study programme (be pursuing a master's degree) and already have some work experience.
Who are we looking for?
The EIB seeks talented young individuals who can help to contribute towards improving people's lives by promoting economic and social progress in the Mediterranean partner countries. This Programme, funded by the FEMIP Trust Fund, will look for candidates specialising in a field relevant to international development banking, such as economics, finance, the environment, engineering (ports, roads, energy, etc.) or urban planning.

All candidates who wish to be considered for the FEMIP Internship Programme must meet the following criteria:
* be 32 years of age or younger;
* be a national of a Mediterranean partner country;
* be proficient in English and/or French;
* have demonstrated an ability to conduct analytical work; to exercise good judgment; and to work as part of a team.
What are we offering?
We offer an opportunity for professional development and global experience in an international environment. The EIB will pay a monthly stipend to all interns (EUR 1 050) and will provide reimbursement of travel expenses (one round trip from/to the point of origin or two in the case of 10 to 12 month assignments). Interns will be responsible for their own accommodation costs.
Each successful candidate will commit to a minimum of three months and a maximum of 12 months in the Programme, to be spent at the EIB Headquarters in Luxembourg or at one of the External Offices between 1 December 2006 and 31 December 2007. For those interns committing to a stay of 10-12 months there is a possibility of undertaking two assignments in two different units at the Bank, including, if appropriate, at one of the External Offices. As a rule candidates can only apply for a position in a country of which they are not a resident/national.

applications online at www.eib.org/jobs. Candidates must also submit their CVs and should include one letter of recommendation, preferably from a professor. Only those identified for an assignment will be contacted to discuss their
application and availability. Candidates are selected by a panel on a highly competitive basis. The
application period for the Programme is 11 July to 25 August 2006.
Incomplete
applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
