The purpose of the project is to build capacities through the set- up of a sustainable training system for skilled human resources in the area of energy management in four sub-Saharan Portuguese-speaking African countries: Angola, Cabo Verde, Mozambique and Sao Tome è Principe.
The training programme provides structured training and training material to facilitate a training system in energy management in both the public and private sectors. Subjects of the training courses are:
• Introduction, methodology
• Development of energy efficiency strategies and master plans
• Energy management in buildings
• Energy management in industry
• Energy audits
• Renewable energies
• Financing of energy efficiency
• Methods of project development
• Energy management training centres/Energy Agencies
The courses focus on the transfer of know-how and skills necessary to independently initiate and carry out no-cost/low-cost energy management activities and to further transfer and disseminate the knowledge gained.

The project aims to rise the awareness of targeted groups between four project partners - metropolitan police units from Warsaw, Helsinki, Vilnius and Riga in the field of positive treatment of domestic violence victims, especially concerning the very first contact with them. Expected result is to set up a model of innovative methods of helping and assisting victims by the first contact policemen to handle with legal procedures. This result will be
reached by joint police intervention on domestic violence, multisectoral network with NGO's, social and medical services, prosecutors, municipal guards and local authorities from
participating countries during seminars and workshops, close co-operation with victims. Main
beneficiares will be women, mainly domestic workers, and children up to 12 years old. Main target group will be police officers acting in the field of preventing and combating domestic
violence.

The European Civic Forum was created in December 2005 at the initiative of a collective of French associations grouped together under the motto "Good citizenship and democracy" (CIDEM) and active in the field of citizenship education, promoting good citizenship and engaging young people . Its members currently number around a hundred associations and national, regional and local NGOs from the 25 EU countries operating in the field of citizenship education, and its overall objective is to provide European integration with a citizenship dimension.
The raison d'être of the European Civic Forum is to encourage closer civic involvement in Europe by setting up a network of national, regional and local stakeholders in associations working in their respective countries on civic education issues and bring about joint actions aimed at making citizens aware of the common values that bind them and make them European citizens through civic education and the sharing of experiences.
The first action of the European Civic Forum was the launching on 15 February 2006 of an EU-wide campaign to collect signatures to a petition calling for a European association statute . The next gathering of the Forum's member associations will be in 2007. On this occasion, the Forum wishes to encourage greater citizen involvement in European integration through the adoption of innovative practices and methods to educate people about European citizenship. This event will lead to the production of various teaching aids on citizenship with a high European content and the publication of a panorama of actions aimed at achieving the emergence of a European identity.

International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC)-Europe, with financing from the European Refugee Fund (ERF) of the European Commission, is implementing the twelve-month project to foster practical cooperation in resettlement, and in particular to promote the establishment of the new network, in partnership with seven European non-governmental organisations (NGO's) currently engaged in the resettlement and/ or integration of refugees. The project is being implemented in close collaboration with the Resettlement Services Division of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva and with the European Council for Refugees and Exiles (ECRE).
