EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region: Annual Forum
Decision-makers from business, politics, international organisations and academia will meet in the Polish City of Gdańsk on 24-26 October to discuss the development of the Baltic Sea Region. The 2nd Annual Forum on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region will take place together with the 13th Baltic Development Forum (BDF) Summit. The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, launched in 2009, mobilises several EU policies to support the development of this "macro-region". The Strategy aims to make the region more environmentally sustainable, economically prosperous, accessible, attractive, safe and secure. Under the headline New Ambitions for the Baltic Sea Region, the programme of the 24-26 October event includes discussions on the link between the Baltic Sea Region Strategy and the Europe 2020 Strategy for sustainable, smart and inclusive growth. Commissioner Hahn is scheduled to speak at the event.
