European Development Days - High Level Panel on Democracy and Human Rights

The European Development Days are the leading European forum where issues of international development cooperation are debated by thousands of development actors. On 6 and 7 December 2010, the 5th edition of this international event will take place in the Belgian capital, Brussels. In the perspective of the 15 years anniversary of the European Instrument on Democracy and Human Rights, the European Commission is honored to organise the first event on Human Rights since the creation of the European Development Days in 2005. This is an excellent opportunity for the Commission to create a space for genuine debate on the challenges and the future of Human Rights and Democracy issues as well as on key striking issues of the EIDHR. High level speakers will have the opportunity to confront their views and interact with the audience on a gripping debate moderated by the CNN anchor, Tumi Makgabo.
