Future-Proof Farming
Europe’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) needs to meet growing challenges that range from food security and safety to ecological sustainability and climate change. Meanwhile, europe’s farmers face a variety of ecological challenges, yet agriculture can contribute much to the creation of an environment-friendly and resource-efficient economy. What strategy for agriculture should Europe be pursuing? Will new technologies for water, soil and crop management be able to deliver a low-carbon Green Revolution? Will the reformed CAP contribute to supporting lively, diverse, and prosperous rural communities? These are some of the questions that will be addressed at this Roundtable.
