The tumor suppressor LKB1
The conference will be held in Marseilles, under the auspices of Canceropole PACA and CLARA, and will welcome leaders in the fields of medicine and basic science to focus on the tumor suppresor LKB; from fundamental research to clinical applications. Germline mutations of LKB1 are responsible for Peutz-Jeghers Synfrome, a hereditary disease that predisposes patients to a high incidence of cancer, while also affecting numerous other cellular processes including embryogenesia, neurobiology and metabolism. Compounds that target this pathway have attracted considerable attention potential, and are currently of great interest. This meeting will provide a unique opportunity to share new discoveries, while at the same time foster interactions in the worldwide community of scientists devoted to advancing this important field of research.
