Dear Simon Horner, My name is Vassil Gourev, and I am the leader of the University Rescue Squad (URS) - a NGO based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Our main activity is reaction and prevention of natural disasters and crisis. We also have experience in fighting forest fires. A team of URS were among the international rescue teams in Turkey after the big earthquake in august 1999. Most of our members are students in Sofia University, and some of them are PhD or after graduate students. I find ECHO a very suitable program for our activities.
