This programme continues under Horizon 2020, Pillar 2 "Societal Challenges" for the period 2014-2020. Each area is subdivided into specific research topics that will be called in the calls for proposals (see Funding alerts). The global budget for the 2007-2013 period is 6.1 billion euro.
