This thematic programme is implemented by DG Entreprise & Industry. Its annual budget is increasing: 52 M€ in 2009, 114 M€ in 2010, 237 million euros in 2011. This programme continues under Horizon 2020, Pillar 2 "Societal Challenges" for the period 2014-2020.
