In the AAL Programme, several partner States join their individual funding programmes under a common topic. The European Commission rewards this common activity by granting a subsidy to the AAL Programme in a certain percentage relative to the joint funds from the partner States. The aim of the AAL Programme is to provide innovative ICT-based solutions including products, systems or services to enhance older adults’ quality of life and to strengthen the industrial base in Europe. The main goal is improving the autonomy, participation in social life, skills, and employability of older adults. Solutions funded under the AAL Programme shall address identified wishes and needs of the end-users, and should be transnational, collaborative and cost-shared between private and public funding.

ACQUEAU is the EUREKA cluster for water. It aims at facilitating the generation of pan-european market-driven collaborative research and innovation projects to provide the European Water Industry with new solutions. Through its open call for proposals, ACQUEAU awards the ACQUEAU label to projects proposals with the potential of developing breakthrough innovations. ACQUEAU do not provide funding itself. Yet, project consoritum awarded with the ACQUEAU label will be allowed to apply for national funding, the label being a guarantee for project relevance and viabaility. The ACQUEAU open call is open to any project idea in the context of water cycle.
