Whilst there has been some progress, there is still much more to do. There are still gaps between women and men when it comes to employment, pay earnings… Several European programs are designed to bridge these gaps.

The Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme, Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, the PROGRESS strand of the EASI programme and Erasmus + programme makes it possible to allocate grants to combat inequalities between women and men in various fields.

Indeed, the EU Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme supported 10 projects run by national ministries and equality bodies with the view of promoting economic independence and a more equal sharing of paid and unpaid work between women and men.

The AMIF (Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund ) for its part, has launched a call for proposals on migrant women integration under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund has already been finalised with a large number of submitted applications. New calls have been published: a call for projects supporting the integration of relocated/ resettled persons with a focus on vulnerable groups, including women and children, a call for projects promoting fast track integration into the labour market for third country nationals with special criteria favouring women.

Regarding the PROGRESS strand of the EASI programme supported eight transnational projects, run by civil society and social partners, aiming at understanding and tackling the gender pay gap, as well as a project entitled With Innovative Tools Against the Gender Pay Gap.

Lastly, the Erasmus + programme finances specific projects focusing on gender issues in education, encouraging young generations to break gender stereotypes.
