2001 EUROPEAN SOLAR PRIZE

The European Solar Prize is attributed yearly since 1994 to award outstanding initiatives of renewable energy utilisation. The 2001 Award ceremony will take place in Berlin (Germany) on 5 December 2001.The 2001 Prizes are awarded in various categories:
Barcelona, Spain and the federal province of Vorarlberg (Austria) in the category "cities and municipalities";
Weingut Pflüger (Germany) in the category "industrial and commercial enterprises - farmers";
the company Calorius (Denmark) in the category "owners/users of RE-installations";
"Solar 91" (Switzerland) in the category "associations";
Francesca Sartogo (Italy) and Hockerton Housing Project (Great Britain) in the category "solar architecture";
"New Energy" magazine (Germany) in the category "media";
Kompetenzzentrum Synergiepark (Switzerland) in the category "education";
French Minister for the Environment Yves Cochet and Gianni Silvestrini (Italy) in the category "special awards".

The Awarding Ceremony will be on 5 December 2001, at 6.30 p.m., in Berlin (Germany).
