News Funding of EUR 400 million is provided by the European Investment Bank under the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) for loans in the agriculture and bio-economy sector.

EIB financing will support nearly €1 billion in investment across Europe by attracting investment from cooperatives and private companies.

The scope of the SIEF has been extended in a new regulation which came into force in early 2018 and now includes a specific sectoral priority for sustainable agriculture and the bio-economy in general. Loans to farmers and small and medium-sized enterprises will range from €7.5 million to €50 million.
