Cannes 2003: three films supported by Eurimages in competition

Culture - Media, Co-op & Development,

News Eurimages (Council of Europe's European Support Fund for the co-production of cinematographic works) will be present at Cannes for the International Film Festival, with three feature films in competition and one out of competition.

The films in competition are: - Ce jour là by Raoul Ruiz (France), a Franco-Swiss co-production. - Dogville by Lars von Trier (Denmark), a co-production between Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. - The Tulse Luper Suitcases by Peter Greenaway (United Kingdom), a co-production between the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. Le Temps du Loup, by Michael Haneke (Austria) will be screened at Cannes but out of competition. Jacques Toubon, President of Eurimages, welcomed the selection and declared it was particularly important that behind these three films are twelve countries that will be represented at Cannes. According to him, it is a one-off opportunity and a great encouragement for co-operation.
