Celebrate the festival of Europe this weekend with the European institutions

Come and visit the European Institutions to discover their functioning. On the 12th of May, Bruxelles and its European district are celebrating the 20th Festival of Europe.

The celebrations are held every year around Europe Day on 9 May, which marks the anniversary of a declaration by French foreign minister Robert Schuman in 1950 that was a key moment in the creation of the EU. It is an opportunity for the Parliament and the other EU institutions to open their doors and welcome the public.

On Saturday 12 May there will be a raft of activities in Brussels to celebrate the 20th Festival of Europe and in Strasbourg the following day. There will also be events in other member states.

Open from 10am to 6pm, the Parliament sites in Brussels and Strasbourg offer a programme filled with information, debates, music, fun and games, with something to appeal to all tastes. You will be able to find out more about the programme by clicking on the link to the right.
