Deadline extended for Civil Society Dialogue – Municipalities Grant Scheme

The deadline for the Civil Society Dialogue municipalities grant scheme has been extended to 14 September 2007 because of the wide interest in Turkey and the EU member states. A high number of potential applicants that are still looking for cooperation partners have gained more time to prepare the applications .

The grant scheme for municipalities aims to foster effective, transparent and participatory local government as well as the delivery of higher quality municipal services .

The projects in this category may include various activities including urban planning, environment protection, adult education as well as tourism and culture.
The civic cooperation projects to be selected under this programme will help boost the practical collaboration between Turkish and EU municipalities.

The European Commission's contribution to the projects will be between 50 to 90 per cent of the total cost.
The programme is implemented under the responsibility of the Turkish EU Secretariat General.
