The European Parliament and Council reached an agreement on EU solidarity Corps

News The agreement to set up an EU Solidarity Corps has been informally reached today. It stipulates a budget and new activities too. 

The European Solidarity Corps will enable young people to be engaged in activities related to solidarity projects that will bring benefits to communities in need as well as to young people through the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.

Under the agreement, the budget for the period 2018-2020 is €375.6 million, most of which will come from the redeployment of certain funding programmes. In addition, the agreement provides a wide range of activities such as solidarity, education, health, environmental protection, reception of migrants and asylum seekers, etc.
