Leonardo: the Xenophon project
As Europe confronts important problems in the sector of telecommunications, the project 'Xenophon' proposes to harmonise employees' competences. The Leonardo programme has selected the Greek project Xenophon. Its objective is to establish a European certification for telecommunications, and to harmonise the European competences so that the market of telecommunications remains competitive.
Xenophon allowed the constitution of a network, which gathers British Telecom, Teledanmark and Hellenic Telecommunications, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Hainaut-Cambresis and Cicy & Guilds International. Thus associated, the three telecommunication companies and the two training bodies will be able to identify the criteria encouraging the mobility of the professionals. A better orientation of manpower will facilitate the management of training.
