LIFE Grants indicative timetable

News An indicative timetable related to the publication of the future calls for proposals for LIFE grants has been revealed.

5 types of projects under the LIFE programme can be distinguished

Traditional projects

"Traditional" projects include two sub-programmes and covers the following priority areas :
Under the sub-programme Environment:
- LIFE Nature and Biodiversity
- LIFE Environment and Resource efficiency
- LIFE Environmental Governance & Information
Under the sub-programme for Climate Action:
- LIFE Climate Change Mitigation
- LIFE Climate Change Adaptation
- LIFE Climate Governance and Information

The opening date and closing date of the call refering to traditional projects are respectively : June 1st 2015 and September 15th 2015.

Preparatory projects

Preparatory projects address specific needs for the development and implementation of Union environmental or climate policy and legislation.

The opening date and closing date of the call related to preparatory projects under the LIFE programme are respectively: June 1st 2015 and October 30th 2015.

Technical Assistance projects

Technical assistance projects provide, by way of action grants, financial support to help applicants prepare integrated projects.

The opening and closing date of the call related to technical assistance projects under the LIFE programme are respectively: June 1st 2015 and mid-September 2015.

Integrated projects

Integrated projects are projects implementing on a large territorial scale (regional, multi-regional, national or trans-national scale) environmental or climate plans or strategies required by specific Union environmental or climate legislation, developed pursuant to other Union acts or developed by Member States' authorities, primarily in the areas of nature (including Natura 2000 network management), water, waste, air and climate change mitigation and adaptation, while ensuring involvement of stakeholders and promoting the coordination with and mobilisation of at least one other relevant Union, national or private funding source.

The opening date, deadline for the concept note and deadline for the full proposal of the call refering to integrated projects under the LIFE programme are respectively: June 1st 2015, October 1st 2015 and mid-April 2016.

NGO Operating Grants

Operating grants support certain operational and administrative costs of non-profit making entities which pursue an aim of general Union interest, are primarily active in the field of environment and/or climate action and are involved in the development, implementation and enforcement of Union policy and legislation. This year's call will address framework partnership agreements covering two years.

The opening date and closing date of the call refering to NGO Operating Grants under the LIFE programme are respectively: May 2015 and July 2015
