Mid term Evaluation recommend merging of ASIA co-operation programmes

Energy, Environment, Industry, Co-op & Development,

News Asia Pro Eco has recently undergone its mid-term evaluation and an external monitoring exercise during which selected projects were visited by external assessors to evaluate their progress and how Asia Pro Eco as a whole is being implemented.

Asia Pro Eco – Asia Urbs Merge: Following extensive consultation, EU-Asia Pro Eco Programme and EU-Asia Urbs Programme are merging to become the Asia Pro Eco II Programme which intends to support projects with an urban environmental focus. Asia Pro Eco II is currently under discussion. Local governments and the urban environment will continue to be one of the main areas of grant support in the decentralised co-operation programmes managed by Europe Aid. For further developments on the new Urban Environmental programme (such as new Guidelines for Applicants) please continue to check both the Urbs and the Pro Eco websites. Asia-Invest – Asia IT&C Merge: in response to the changing EU and Asian economic and business realities, the European Commission is re-focusing its approach and is merging the two Asia-wide programmes, Asia Invest and Asia IT&C into one tool to support EU-Asian multilateral business networking and to promotion and facilitate the exchange of information and communication technologies. More information will be available on the Asia-Invest and Asia IT&C websites in the near future.
