Publications on Euromed Youth programme actions

News The UE-funded Euromed Youth programme has published the Israel issue of a thematic series on European Neighbourhood Policy actions in the countries of the southern shore of the Meditarrenean

This is a result of the study visit entitled Youth Work and Inclusion in Israel, held inIsrael last year. It is the second issue of a collection in several languages called «Youth Work in...» composed of five publications dedicated to youth work in the European Neighbourhood South countries (Tunisia, Israel, Jordan, Palestinian Territories and Egypt) that hosted actions in 2013. 

The activity is the result of a joint effort of the Israeli EuroMed Youth Unit (EMYU), the network of Israeli EuroMed multipliers and trainers, RCBS (Regional Capacity Building and Support Unit for the EuroMed Youth Programme IV), SALTO-YOUTH EuroMed, the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel. 

This collection aims to support the cooperation within EuroMed area providing a depth reflection about the nowadays issues and challenges in youth work in the Euro Mediterranean context. Youth work is changing and opening new interesting perspectives for the future.

After the first issue “Youth work in Tunisia after the revolution” published in English and French last summer, the third production will concern Palestine. It will be entitled “Youth work in Palestine and surrounding challenges”.The EU funds the regional programme EuroMed Youth IV during the period 2010-2013 with a budget of €5 million under the European Neighbourhood Policy. The programme aims at stimulating and encouraging mutual comprehension among youth in the Euro-Mediterranean region, fighting stereotypes and prejudices and enhancing the sense of solidarity among youth by promoting active citizenship. It also seeks to contribute to the development of youth policies in the Mediterranean Partner Countries. The programme promotes the mobility of young people and the understanding between peoples.
