Funds for: supporting audience development and improving access to European audiovisual works 
Main beneficiaries: public or private entities

Priorities and funded actions:

* Supporting initiatives presenting and promoting a diversity of European audiovisual works;
* Supporting activities aiming at increasing knowledge and interest of audiences in European audiovisual works 

* Lot 1: support to festivals Action 1
– To increase the effectiveness and professionalization of festivals in Europe;
– To increase presentation of European non-national works;
– To enlarge the audience for European film and in particular non-national films;
– To increase the circulation of European films
* Lot 2: support to European Networks of Festivals
– To reinforce sustainability of European networks of festivals aiming to enhance cooperation among members through joint activities strategies;
– To increase the effectiveness and professionalization of European networks of festivals with the aim to increase promotion and circulation of European films to growing audiences across Europe;
– To foster exchange of knowledge and good practices, achieve economies of scale and resource efficiency in a digital context

Among financed actions
* Lot 1
– European audiovisual festivals as events :
> Programming eligible films (fiction, documentaries or animation) screened to wide audiences including general public as well as accredited international audiovisual professionals and press;
> Committed to audience development (especially towards young audiences) by implementing activities before, during or after the event;
> Implementing innovative actions using the latest digital technologies and tools;
> Organising initiatives for film literacy (for example film education) in close cooperation with schools and other institutions;  
> Supporting European films, especially from countries with a low audiovisual production capacity;  
> Supporting non-national European programming and geographic diversity of non-national European programming; 
> Developing collaboration and partnerships with other European film festivals across borders 

* Lot 2
– European networks of festivals taking place in countries participating in the MEDIA Sub-programme aiming to further develop effective collaboration and partnerships across borders and to elaborate strategies for joint activities in order to expand interest for European audiovisual works
– Coordination of the network members and activities relating to its sustainable structured development (collaborative events, sharing of know-how and information, communication among members)

* This call for proposals is an open call for proposals

* Initial duration of the action: 12 months

* Eligibility:
– Be a legal person;
– Be a European entity: public or private entity, non-profit or profit-making entity, association, charity, foundation, municipality, university, educational institution, research center;
– Be established in an EU Member State, a candidate country, an EFTA country which is member of the EEA, Switzerland, or in an eligible country covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy

– Actions must take place in the European Union
