Objectives
* Enable Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to engage as actors of governance and development in the Republic of Mauritius 

Priorities
* Lot 1 – Gender equality, women’s and girls’ empowerment and youth inclusion: 
– Increase women’s participation in decision-making as well as the voice of the youth in society; 

* Lot 2 – Climate change adaptation and mitigation: 
– Increase the participation of CSOs in tackiling climate change and mitigating its adverse effects

Among financed actions
* Lot 1: 
– Actions promoting women and girls’ role as agents of development and change, for instance: promoting their economic and social rights and empowerment, strengthening their voice and participation in social, economic, political and civic life, ensuring their physical and psychological integrity, promoting women’s equal access to – and control over – resources, productive employment, decent work, equal pay and financial services;
– Increase targeted actions towards gender equality;
– Increase actions against gender-based violence and violence against girls and children;
– Strengthen the capacity of CSOs to carry out gender-responsive budgeting and planning;
– Monitor, advocate and pilot more relevant education, vocational training and skills development strategies offering youth better chances for (self-)employment

* Lot 2 CSO activities contributing to: 
– Make better use of science, technology and innovation to promote climate action and environmental sustainability;
– Decouple economic growth from greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation;
– Build capacity to mainstream climate change, disaster risk reduction and environmental sustainability and the pursuit of green growth into national and local development strategies;

Additional information
* This is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project: between 24 and 60 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit making;
– Be : civil society platforms or non-governmental organisation or their representative national platforms;
– Be established in the Republic of Mauritius or be a Member of the EU or the EEA 

– If the lead applicant is not established in the Republic of Mauritius, it must act with a minimum of one co-applicant established in the Republic of Mauritius
