Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* Support Civil Society Organizations in assuming their role as actors of good governance and development in the Dominican Republic;
* Promote the improvement and effective enforcement of the regulatory framework and the consolidation of a favorable environment for the work of CSOs in the Dominican Republic;
* Promote meaningful and structured participation of CSOs in the processes of construction, implementation, monitoring, and auditing of national policies within the framework of the National Development Strategy and Sustainable Development Objectives;
* Strengthen the capacities of local CSOs to more effectively play their role as independent development actors 

Priorities
* Climate Change and Resilience – Increasing CSO involvement in climate change mitigation and integrated disaster risk management;
* Gender Equity and Equality – Increase the influence, voice, and participation of girls and women in social, economic, political and civil life;
* Youth – Giving young people a greater voice and participation in society

Among financed actions
* Priority 1:
– Contribute to the design, implementation, and monitoring of climate-related strategies in key sectors, such as agriculture, energy, disaster risk management and urban development;
– Facilitate the transition to a resilient, low-emission and circular economy through sustainable consumption, and production, including sustainable waste management;
– Promote economic growth free of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation;
– Promote transformation to a circular economy that generates growth, creates jobs and helps reduce poverty through sustainable management of natural resources;
– Promote the use of science, technology, and innovation for climate action and environmental sustainability

* Priority 2:
– Support policy dialogue on gender equity and equality and women’s and human rights to empower women and girls;
– Promote the role of women and girls as agents of development and change;
– Increase specific actions in favor of equality between men and women;
– Supporting the strengthening of CSO capacity for gender-responsive budgeting and planning;
– Ensure the active participation of women and women’s organizations in decision-making processes at all levels

* Priority 3:
– Support the monitoring, promotion, and piloting of more effective and inclusive youth employment strategies and decent work opportunities;
– Support the monitoring, promotion, and piloting of reforms that make it easier for young people to become self-employed or start a business;
– Protect young people, including vulnerable teenagers, from abuse, sexual, labor and other exploitation, and from dangerous and indecent working conditions;
– Support the promotion of sexual and reproductive health and rights;
– Support social protection measures, such as maternity and disability benefits, protection against accidents at work and unemployment compensation

Additional information
* This is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated 

* Initial duration of the project: between 24 and 48 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be a Civil Society Organization constituted in accordance with the legislation in force in the Dominican Republic for at least 2; years before the application to the call for proposals;
– Be established in the Dominican Republic;

– The applicant may act individually or with co-applicants;

– Action must take place in the Dominican Republic;

– The following entities are only eligible as co-applicants: Civil Society Organisations established in the Dominican Republic or in one of the Member States of the European Union or of the European Economic Area; Local Authorities (LA) or Associations of Local Authorities (ALA) established in the Dominican Republic or in one of the Member States of the European Union or the European Economic Area
