Priorities and funded actions:

Objective
* To promote the involvement of civil society organisations in intercultural dialogue, cultural diversity, non-discrimination and respect for equal rights of all the people in Myanmar;
* To strengthen the transparent governance of natural resources and land-use; 
* To contribute to a more equitable, open and democratic society;
* To promote a free press and the freedom of expression, of opinion, of association and of assembly

Priorities
* Lot 1: Respect for Diversity, targeting cultural and religious (inter-faith) actors, fostering mutual understanding and countering hate speech and radicalisation through intercultural dialogue and culture:
– To enhance cultural pluralism, intercultural understanding and respect for diversity, including aspects relating to religion or belief, countering hate speech and radicalisation and enhancing dialogue and social inclusion and skills development
* Lot 2: Governance of extractive industries and advocacy on land rights: 
– To promote better governance, transparency and accountability of extractive industries and enhanced advocacy on land rights 
* Lot 3: Protection of Freedom of press, expression, opinion and assembly:
– To protect freedom of press, of expression, of opinion, of association and of assembly in Myanmar 

Among financed actions
* Promoting dialogue opportunities e.g. by the provision of physical or virtual “safe spaces” for moderated exchanges;
* Interfaith/intra-faith conferences, meetings, solidarity visits to affected communities;
* Measures to preserve the heritage of cultural and religious diversity (manuscripts, objects and sites) including in formal curricula and textbooks; 
* Capacity-building, exchanges between education/research institutions/platforms of Media actors to enhance  and  disseminate knowledge; 
* Production and dissemination of virtual or printed material such as cartoons, videos, music, arts, catalogues, exhibitions;
* Awareness raising campaigns to inform the general public and authorities; 
* Legal and other support services to victims of human rights violations and their defenders;
* Studies, evaluations and research activities as part of a wider range of activities;
* Networking and coordination activities;
* Organisation of meetings, events, forum, debates, consultations to build dialogue among different stakeholders;
* Communication activities, public information and awareness raising activities, including through culture and work with media and modern IT tools

Additional information

* This is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project:
– Lot 1: between 36 and 48 months
– Lot 2: between 36 and 48 months
– Lot 3: 36 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, local authority, international (inter-governmental) organisation;
– Be established in a country eligible under the EIDHR programme

– Action must take place in Myanmar;

– The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant. Nevertheless, if a lead applicant established outside Myanmar acts with co-applicant, it must act with at least two co-applicants which are established in Myanmar; 

– Lead applicants established in Myanmar must act with at least one co-applicant
