Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives 
* Support the actions of civil society organisations contributing to the development and improvement of people’s living conditions;
* Contribute to the consolidation of democracy and the rule of law, as well as respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms;
* Lot 1: Support for Mauritanian CSOs’ actions for networking, mutualisation and structuring;
* Lot 2: Support for the actions of CSOs working in Mauritania to support local CSOs;
* Lot 3: Support for the actions of human rights defenders in Mauritania

Priorities
* Lot 1: Promote networking, mutualization, and structuring of Mauritanian CSOs and socio-professional organizations to contribute to their sustainable participation in economic and social development policies in Mauritania;

* Lot 2: Support actions to support Mauritanian CSOs in order to strengthen their capacities, structuring, networking, and financing capacity and to promote social cohesion and citizenship education for men, women, youth and children;

* Lot 3: Support actions proposed and implemented by democracy activists and defenders of human rights, civil, political, socio-economic and cultural rights in Mauritania

Among financed actions 
* Lot 1 :
– Strengthening CSO networks and coordination;
– Actions to increase the inclusion of people in the development process and social negotiations;
– Implementation of activities provided in the communal development plan and elaborated according to an inclusive participatory process;
– Actions to support and promote inter-institutional and intersectoral dialogue for the definition and monitoring of public policies

* Lot 2 :
– Promotion and improvement of the service offer to CSOs in Mauritania and their networking;
– Promotion of cultural and/or craft activities such as craft and culture days, support for craft producers, their professionalization and the marketing of their products;
– Empowerment and capacity-building of cultural actors, enhancement of Mauritanian cultural diversity and promotion of interculturality and peaceful coexistence

* Lot 3 :
– Human rights education for women, girls, people discriminated against for themselves, society and institutions (including security services, judicial personnel, traditional and religious authorities);
– Development and provision of manuals, communication and awareness-raising tools, training tools, to support the activities planned in the action;
– Strengthening networks of human rights defenders

Additional information
* This is a restricted call for proposals. At first, only the concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project:
– Lots 1 and 2: between 24 and 48 months;
– Lot 3: between 24 and 36 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be: a civil society organization;
– Lot 1: to be established in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and to have been registered for 2 years at the time of publication of this call for proposals with the services concerned;
– Lot 2: Be established in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania or in a Member State of the European Union or the European Economic Area or in a country bordering the Islamic Republic of Mauritania;
– Lot 2: be registered for 3 years with the relevant services in the State of establishment for CSOs from an EU Member State or the European Economic Area or having a common border with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, or registered for 2 years with the relevant services for Mauritanian CSOs;

– The applicant must act with at least one co-applicant established in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania;
– Lots 1 and 2: Each applicant may act with one or more co-applicants established in a Member State of the European Union and/or the European Economic Area and/or having a common border with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania;
– Lot 3: Each applicant may act with one or more co-applicants of non-Mauritanian nationality;

– The actions must take place in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania
