Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* Enhance the broad-based and inclusive engagement of CSOs as actors of governance and sustainable development in Jordan;
* To increase the monitoring capacity of public policies by civil society organizations at the national and local level in key sectors, such as education, transportation and health;
* To promote CSOs’ coordinated actions and engagement with communities and authorities at national and governorate levels;
* To promote gender equality and women’s rights in Jordan, with a special focus on eliminating gender-based violence and enhancing women’s leadership and participation in public life;
* To increase participation of CSOs in climate-related issues and nature-based approaches;
* To promote youth participation and empowerment in public life through innovative approaches

Priorities
* Monitoring Capacity of Public Policies by CSOs:
– Monitoring capacity at national, governorate and local levels;
– National NGOs networking and coordination mechanism;
– Local development and local governance
* Gender Equality and Women Participation:
– Violence against women and girls;
– Women leadership and participation in public life;
– Participation in public debates and policy dialogues
* CSOs’ Capacities and Engagement on Climate-Related Issues and Nature-Based Approaches:
– Climate-related policies and strategies in key sectors;
– Transition to climate-resilient, low emissions, and circular economy
* Youth Participation and Empowerment:
– Youth participation in public life and their role in voluntary works;
– Youth participation in sports, arts, and culture;
– Participation in public debates and policy dialogues

Among financed activities
* Lot 1:
– To enhance CSOs’ role in conducting monitoring of public policies at the local level and holding the government accountable and responsive to the key sectors of importance for the people, such as education, transportation, and health to support improving quality of service, with special attention to youth and women;
– To support a new or an existing coordination mechanism for national NGOs;
– To enhance coordination and networking among national NGOs and facilitate their collective engagement in governance and sustainable development in Jordan
* Lot 2:
– To promote gender equality and women’s rights in Jordan;
– To support the elimination of gender-based violence;
– To enhance women leadership and participation in public life and decision-making
* Lot 3:
– To promote the formulation and/or implementation of climate-related policies and strategies in key sectors, such as agriculture, energy, water, tourism, transport, solid waste management and urban development and translates Jordan’s green growth strategy/plan, as well as their international climate action commitments through their national plans including the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs);
– To enable transition to climate-resilient, low emissions, circular economy through for example resource efficiency and sustainable consumption and production, including sustainable management of waste
* Lot 4:
– To increase youth participation and inclusion in public life in Jordan;
– To use constructively the leisure time;
– Use arts, culture, and sports, with a view to enhance social cohesion, intergenerational relations, and active citizenship

Additional information
* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 30 months

* Eligibility:
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
Be a non-governmental organisation;
– Be established in a Member State of the European Union or in Jordan;

– The lead applicant must act with a minimum of two Jordanian co-applicants

– Actions must take place in two or more of the following governorates, with at least one governorate in southern Jordan: Irbid, Mafraq, Ajloun, Jerash, Balqa, Zarqa, Amman (preferably East Amman), Madaba, Karak, Ma’an, Tafilah, Aqaba
