Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* Strengthen CSOs’ capacity as promoters of good governance, social development and inclusive and sustainable growth;
* Strengthen the capacities of Congolese Civil Society Organisations as actors in good governance and accountability;
* Strengthen the capacity of Congolese CSOs to participate in social development, inclusive growth, and meet the needs of the most vulnerable populations

Priorities
* Priority 1:
– Strengthen the various CSO networks and their structuring, in order to improve their coordination, and their advocacy capacities towards public authorities;
– Support for the emergence of women’s CSOs, in order to strengthen women’s leadership and the participation of Congolese girls and women in the public sphere

* Priority 2:
– Strengthen the capacities of Congolese CSOs so that they can facilitate access to basic social services for the most vulnerable populations, improve the quality of their services to these populations, and advocate on these issues to the public authorities;
– Support for CSO initiatives that contribute to the diversification of the local economic fabric, the creation of quality jobs for young people, and/or the empowerment of women

Among financed actions
* Skills transfer, training and capacity building activities;
* Supervision, coaching, support for the implementation of project(s) at local level;
* Awareness and disclosure campaigns;
* Establishment and promotion of consultation mechanisms between civil society and national and/or local public institutions, as well as with donors;
* Systematic monitoring, data collection and analysis to improve advocacy;
* Income-generating activities designed and implemented by the target groups;
* Supply of small productive equipment and/or inputs for production (provided that this is not the main activity);
* Promotion of networking and/or cooperation between different actors;
* Advice and provision of expertise to civil society organisations

Additional information
* This is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project: between 30 and 48 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be a civil society organization;
– Be established in one of the eligible countries as defined in Article 9 of the EIF;

– The lead applicant whose place of establishment is not the Republic of Congo must act with at least one co-applicant established in the Republic of Congo

– Actions must take place in Republic of Congo
