Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* Promote endogenous, sustainable and inclusive economic development that responds to the challenges of climate change;
* Achieve sustainable, participatory and integrated management of protected areas, riparian territories and corridors of the complex formed by PoNaSi (Burkina Faso), Comoé (Côte d’Ivoire) and Mole (Ghana), ensuring economic development respectful of ecosystems;

Priorities
* Achieving the results and activities of component 1 of the PAPBio (Sustainable management of protected areas and peripheral areas), but adapted to the PoNaSi/Comoé/Mole complex on the one hand, and taking into account the component 2 of PAPBio on the other hand;
* Taking into account the following cross-cutting issues: human rights; equality between men and women; the environment and climate change; nutrition; the dynamics of the public goods community approach; pastoralism; renewable energy; security; the sustainability of actions and structures to put in place or support;
* The call is divided into 3 lots, with each lot corresponding to a priority region for the implementation of PAPBio:
– Lot 1: PoNaSi (Burkina Faso);
– Lot 2: Comoé (Ivory Coast);
– Lot 3: Molé (Ghana)

Among financed actions
* Writing, validation, implementation of management plan;
* Establishment of committees and platforms for management and reflection including all stakeholders, including representatives of local populations;
* Development of income generating activities;
* Control of illegal activities (poaching, timber harvesting and NTFPs, mine exploitation, etc.);
* Improvements to enhance the quality of protected areas and reduce illegal incursions;
* Sensitisation and training in sustainable management;
* Development of activities increasing resilience to climate change;
* Development of innovative sources of financing;
* Realisation of inventories of natural resources;
* Connection with platforms of other protected areas/game reserve/wildlife reserve for the exchange of experiences;
* Participation in subregional governance committees;
* Taking into account the security situation

* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 45 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be a non-profit organisation;
– Be: a NGO, a public sector operator, a local authority or an international organisation;
– Be established in an EU Member State or an ACP country as stated in the basic act of the ACP-EC Partnership agreement;
– Entities having a strictural link with the applicants (lead applicant or a co-applicant) are entitled to act as affiliated entities;
– Other organisations or individuals may be involved in the action as associates
