Priorities and funded actions:

Objective
* To deliver good governance and accountability, social cohesion and a transformed economy for the wellbeing of all Gambians;
* Lot 1: Green Economy:
– To increase the participation of CSOs in tackling climate change and promoting environmental sustainability, with a focus on labour-intensive works
* Lot 2: Culture, arts and sport:
– To support cultural, creative and sports industries outside of the Greater Banjul Area as engines for social and economic development to foster job creation and mitigate migration

Priorities
* Lot 1: 
– Supporting the implementation of policies relating to the sustainable management of natural resources and ecosystems and sustainable consumption and production, thereby enabling the transition to a green economy;
– Promoting structured dialogue between government, the private sector and CSOs, particularly those representing women and youth, on climate change, environmental sustainability, green growth;
– Promoting the participation of women and youth in the green economy, in particular in eco-restoration and as agents of environmental protection;
– Supporting advocacy groups’ involvement in policy development and implementation of national/ local development strategies to mainstream climate change and environmental sustainability, including the management of natural resources and ecosystems and sustainable consumption and production;
– Supporting exchanges of information and expertise to promote mutual learning and networks to increase understanding of climate change, environmental sustainability and the green economy
* Lot 2:
– Strengthening the contribution of the cultural, creative and sports industries to the employability of young people and women e.g. skills development or job creation;
– Strengthening women’s voice and participation in the cultural, creative and sport industries
– Supporting the creation, refurbishment or expansion of cultural, creative or sports facilities, ensuring they cater to both men and women;
– Building linkages between cultural, creative and sports industries, SMEs and tourism

Among financed actions
* Studies, mapping and research on the local context, the project environment, the sector of intervention, identified needs and problems, expected results and impact;
* Policy dialogue, consultation and facilitation;
* Transfers of know-how and experience;
* Promotion of best practises and lessons learned;
* Collaborations and information sharing between Civil Society Organisations, central, provincial and local authorities;
* Actions of public information, sensitisation, awareness-raising, advocacy and mobilization;
* Organization of seminars, conferences (only when the outcomes of these events will be needed and used for the implementation of the action);
* Civil society networking and coordination;
* Training, educational activities, and capacity development

* This is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project: between 36 and 48 months 

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be a non-governmental organisation;
– The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s);
– Action must take place in the Gambia
