Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* Increase the participation of CSOs in tackling climate change and mitigating its adverse effects

Priorities:
* Lot 1: Promote livelihood activities of the communities surrounding protected areas through enterprise development to alleviate poverty and mitigate the impacts of climate change on the lives of community members (making communities more resilient);
* Lot 2: Promote the sustainable management of waste to enable the transition to climate-resilient, low-emissions, circular economy

Among financed actions 
*Lot 1:
– Support communities around National Parks and wildlife reserves to identify enterprises and products according to local resources and potential markets;
– Link enterprises identified to markets as to contribute to increased incomes of communities around National Parks and wildlife reserves and reduce negative coping mechanisms such as poaching and illegal wildlife crime;
– Supporting measure to improve living conditions of communities around National Parks and wildlife reserves and their cohabitation with wildlife;
– Awareness raising campaigns, targeting local leaders, schools and local governance structures including businessmen bordering national parks and wildlife reserves
* Lot 2:
– Review and propose improvements to legal and regulatory framework to reduce waste production, improve waste collection and recycling, support renewable packaging;
– Support initiatives to reduce waste production, improve waste collection and recycling, support renewable packaging ; Actions of public information, sensitisation, awareness-raising, engagement, advocacy and mobilization;
– Sensitization/advocacy with households on better waste management ;
– Support the development of recycling markets for waste;
– Support innovative use of waste (biogas, manure)
