The global objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the implementation of EU Action Plan
against Wildlife Trafficking by supporting the action of China in this field.
Priorities and funded actions:
– to undertake a targeted awareness raising or communication activity to address one of the key gaps to raise awareness and knowledge in particular amongst Chinese actors in a position to reduce trafficking and potential consumers of illegal wildlife products or endangered species
Among financed actions
– Review of wildlife policies and activities in China and information on demand for illegal wildlife products to identify gaps where actions would be helpful and key stakeholders;
– Promotion of alternatives to wildlife products where appropriate;
– Workshops and communication material to share experience and promote effective policy, communication and education responses within China and with experts and stakeholders from countries facing similar demand management imperatives
