Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* Improve maternal and child nutrition;
* Implement at local level innovative, resilient and scalable nutrition governance pro-poor models which are validated and aligned with national policies

Priorities
* Improve food and nutrition security for children, pregnant and lactating women and adolescent girls (15-19) from poor households;
* Replicate and scale-up innovative – but already validated (in Bangladesh or in other countries and feasible to be implemented in the Bangladeshi context) – comprehensive local governance models for better nutrition of poor households through an integrated and multi-sectoral nutrition sensitive approach;

Among financed actions
*  Strengthening capacities of local government structures and inter-sectoral coordination to address food and nutrition insecurity, enhancing accountability system and participative planning and monitoring of nutrition-sensitive programmes;
* Increasing nutrition sensitive awareness and promoting behaviour change (diet diversity, care practices, water, sanitation and hygiene–WASH- etc.);
* Improving quantity, quality and diversity of food consumption (food production at Household and/or producers’ group levels, resilient crops for nutritious food);
* Promoting Partnerships between Private and Public sectors to enhance Food and Nutrition Security at the local level including the creation of sustainable income generation activities

* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the action: between 30 and 36 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be a non-profit making entity;
– Be: an NGO, a public service operator, a local authority, an international organisation;
– Be established in the territory of an EU Member State or in Bangladesh;
– Not being involved as a Lead applicant and/or co-applicant in any of the grants awarded under the previous Call for Proposals EuropeAid/154555/DD/ACT/BD;
– The applicant must act with at least one co-applicant;

– The action must take place in the lagging behind Food and Nutrition insecure regions of Bangladesh consulting with the vulnerability/poverty map and where no similar interventions are taking place
