Objectives
* Support initiatives of civil society organisations to build further respect for the rights of detainees

Priorities
* Improving prison conditions through services for prisoners and their social reintegration;
* The promotion of alternative measures to incarceration and sentence adjustment

Among financed actions
* Improve the content of prison visits in terms of socio-educational pedagogical activities and, above all, preparation for the release of minors;
* Support for prison rehabilitation programmes;
* Development of neighbourhoods for women and minors;
* Acquisition of equipment/equipment to improve the conditions of staff and prisoners’ detention;
* Funding for education and training programs for prisoners;
* Creation of specialised prison workshops;
* Support for the creation of agricultural farms;
* Training of Heads of socio-educational services;
* Equipment of prison infirmaries;
* Implementation of biogas systems in some prisons;
* Legal/judicial follow-up and legal assistance for detainees;
* Promotion of alternative measures to imprisonment and ways of adjusting sentences

Additional information
* This call of proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project: between 18 and 24 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit;
– Be: a non-governmental organisation, an international (intergovernmental) organisation;
– Be an organisation under Senegalese law or be registered in Senegal;
– Be established in a Member State of the European Union or a Member State of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). This obligation does not apply to international organisations;
– Be able to prove the possession of the experience required to carry out the activities and have relevant experience in relation to the priorities identified

– The lead applicant must act with one or more co-applicants
