Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
– Objective 1: To improve animal health systems for improved productivity;
– Objective 2:  To improve SPS/food safety systems for improved competitiveness and domestic consumer safety

Priorities
* Objective 1:
– Effective institutional and regulatory framework (e.g. adopted policy/legislation, updated disease priority list, improved strategic public spending, mobilisation of private sector funding for productivity diseases);
–  Functioning and effective animal health information system for improved surveillance, outbreaks control and productivity monitoring;
–  Improved diagnosis at the required administrative level;

* Objective 2:
–  Effective SPS/food safety systems (e.g. mandate of institutions adapted, all functions covered and with minimum budgetary spending);
– Strengthened inspection and enforcement of food safety and standards;
– Improved laboratory credibility and diagnosis for food borne diseases, residue and hazardous chemicals

Among financed actions
– Policy Development involves research, analysis, consultation and synthesis of information to produce recommendations. It should also involve an evaluation of options against a set of criteria;
– Institutional Development is creating or reinforcing a network of organisations to effectively generate, allocate and use human, material and financial resources to sustainably attain objectives;
– Capacity Development enables individuals and organisations to obtain, strengthen and maintain capabilities to set and achieve objectives;
– Capital Asset development prioritises, plans and realises demand driven investments into capital assets (infrastructure, equipment), coherent with development objectives, and supported by sustainable funding and management plan;
