Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* To support and strengthen civil society organisations, democracy activists and Human rights defenders working on critical Human rights and democracy issues in third countries;
* To support to Human rights and Human rights defenders most at risk;
* To support to other EU Human rights priorities in line with the set of EU Human rights guidelines adopted by the Council of the European Union  

Priorities
* Addressing the most marginalised vulnerable, stigmatised and isolated groups (such as street children, children in institutions and/or detention, children and people with disabilities, LGBTI, health and parental organisations, etc.);
* Promotion among citizens of civic responsibilities in areas such as the environment, traffic safety, tolerance and respect between different communities and of underlying values for a well-functioning democracy, such as respect for the rule of law, tax morale and freedom of expression;
* Fight against discrimination in all its forms with a focus on women and the most vulnerable groups (such as LGBTI, children, people with disabilities, migrants/refugees/IDPs, minorities);
* Fight against torture/ill treatment by upholding of international Human rights law and the responsibility to protect (or to be protected) by responsible entities (police, prison staff, or any enforcement entities than respective ministries that should carry out internal controls for wrongdoings)

Among financed actions
* Provision of psychosocial, medical, legal assistance and any other type of support;
* Documenting and reporting on cases of Human rights violations;
* Providing free legal aid to the most marginalised vulnerable, stigmatised and isolated groups;
* Monitoring of and reporting on the implementation of the international Human rights instruments that the country has ratified;
* Supporting the collection of appropriate information, including statistical and research data, to enable governments to formulate and implement policies;
* Awareness-raising and communication campaigns to inform on specific democracy/Human rights issues;
* Ensuring access to remedy for victims, accountability and prosecution of perpetrators;
* Promoting the inclusion of women, youth, and other marginalised groups into formal and informal decision making structures, including the political party system;
* Capacity building of civic and political actors to develop responsive policy platforms, adequately representing citizen’s interests;
* Financial support to local registered and non-registered civil society organisations;
* Awareness raising and communication campaigns on citizens own responsibilities not to impede the rights of other citizens (e.g. in the area of environment, traffic safety, etc.)

* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 24 months

* Eligibility:
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be a civil society organisation;
– Be established in the Republic of North Macedonia

– The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s);
– The co-applicants may be established in any country
