Objectives
* Increase and deepen civil society organisations’ engagement in human rights and democracy in Botswana

Priorities
* Promotion and protection of women’s and girls’ rights, targeting specifically gender and family-based violence and/or teenage pregnancy;
* Promotion of broad and inclusive political and social dialogue on:
– Access to information/freedom of expression;
– Child protection;
– Minority/ indigenous rights;
– The rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) persons;
– The death penalty

Parmi les actions financées
* Training, seminars, conferences and awareness-raising/mobilisation of communities on human rights issues and instruments for relevant target groups;
* Legal, administrative, organisational assistance and capacity building to new or fragile civil society organisations or initiatives, in particular outside the main urban areas and in remote areas, working on human rights issues; 
* Improving social, economic and political participation of indigenous and/or disadvantaged groups (e.g. through promoting dialogue with authorities);
* Organizing public debates, dialogue sessions and petitions on human rights issues included in this call; 
* Research, evaluation and monitoring studies in different fields of human rights;
* Advocacy, lobbying activities and elaboration of policy alternatives for legal reform;
* Monitoring and watchdog activities, e.g. on social inclusion of children from indigenous groups;
* Awareness-raising campaigns and/or lobbying activities for informing public opinion and key decision makers in the areas of the objectives identified in this Call;
* Capacity building for mobilization of the targeted groups, including the building of networks for dissemination of information;
* Research, evaluation and monitoring studies in different fields of human rights

Additional information
* This is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project: between 18 and 36 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit making;
– Be civil society organisations, including non-governmental non-profit organisations and independent political foundations, community-based organisations and private sector non-profit agencies, institutions and organisations and networks;
– Be international inter-governmental organisations;

– The lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s);
– Eligible applicants having a nationality other than that of Botswana must act together with at least one national organisation acting as a co-applicant or as an affiliate;

– Actions must take place in Botswana
