Objectives 
* To support  civil society in its actions aimed at fostering the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Equatorial Guinea

Priorities
* Strengthen the capacity, security and ownership of local civil society actors working for human rights, good governance and/or democracy;
* Promotion of the social and economic rights listed in the National Economic Development Plan (specifically education, social protection and public health, including reproductive health);
* Protect and promote the rights of the most vulnerable people (women, children, the elderly, the disabled, minorities, indigenous peoples and LGBTI people);
* Promote equality, inclusion and fight against any form of discrimination, be it sex, race, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation and any other personal or social condition or circumstance

Among financed actions
* Strengthen the capacity of CSOs, including good governance, transparency and anti-corruption;
* Strengthen the capacity of actions (surveys, writing research reports on human rights violations, preparing recommendations for submission to the UN and other organizations) and links with and among local non-governmental organizations active in the field of human rights;
* Advocate for greater investment in and improvement of social sectors, such as education, public health, and social protection;
* Improve social sectors such as education, public health and social protection;
* Training and awareness-raising on the rights of the most vulnerable;
* Training and strengthening of capacities for negotiation, defence, investigation, follow-up, documentation and communication of reports on structural violations of the most vulnerable;
* Training and awareness-raising on legislation, measures and devices to prevent and combat discrimination and promote equal opportunities;
* Advocacy activities and development of strategies to support the change of discriminatory laws and practices

Additional information
* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the action: between 18 months and 24 months

* Eligibility:
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be: civil society organisations, including non-governmental non-profit organisations and independent political foundations, community-based organisations, indigenous peoples’ organisations, disability organisations and private sector agencies, institutions and non-profit organisations and their networks at local, national, regional and international level; national human rights institutions, ombudsmen; universities;
– No nationality restriction applies to principal applicants and, where applicable, co-applicants and affiliated entities
