Objectives
* To empower civil society organisations on the ground and support their actions to promote and defend democracy, human rights, gender equality and empowerment of women

Priorities
* To support to human rights defenders and organisations on the topics of: encouraging a culture of tolerance and inclusiveness;
* Women participation in decision making and advocacy for legal reforms necessary to promote and defend women’s rights;
* Strengthening the capacity of citizens, civil society and the media to participate and develop public debates on human rights and gender equality issues

Among financed actions
* Advocacy, sensitisation, awareness raising, communication, civic education on human rights and other democratic principles;
* Activities, lobbying and development of strategies by civil society organisations to push for legal reforms and to influence policy-making, including supporting the collection of appropriate information like statistics and research data to enable decision makers to formulate and implement policies;
* Promoting the signature, ratification and effective implementation of the relevant international and regional human rights instruments; monitoring of and reporting on the implementation of the international and regional human rights instruments that the country has ratified;
* Provision of social or legal aid support for human rights defenders and victims of human rights violation;
* Capacity building for human rights defenders (individuals and institutions), documenting and reporting on cases of human rights violations;
* Facilitating dialogue processes and other activities to encourage active public debates in political and socio-economic issues;
* Activities to support capacity building/strengthened research and communication in the media; support CSO and the media in promoting accountability and transparency at national and local level;
* Promoting inclusive and strategic partnerships, networking and cooperation amongst relevant organisations working on human rights and gender equality issues in Eswatini;
* Promoting greater contact and cooperation between civic and political actors including fostering of structured dialogue mechanisms;
* Promoting the inclusion of women, youth and other marginalised groups into decision making structures, including traditional structures

Additional information 
* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

* Eligibility:
– Be a legal person person or an entity without legal personality or natural person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be a CSO or an association of CSOs;  
– Be established in any country
                                                     
– When the lead applicant is not established in Eswatini, it must act with at least one co-applicant established in eSwatini;
– If the lead applicant is am organisation established in Eswatini, no co-applicant is required

– Actions must take place in Albania and in the EU member states countries
