Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* To put the private sector at the heart of innovation-led growth; 
* To promote systemic change by increasing the depth and coherence of the enterprise and innovation ecosystem;
– Lot 1: to create or develop an ‘SME Growth Factory’ that helps existing innovative high growth potential enterprises to scale and grow;
– Lot 2: to support the development of (a) sector Centre(s) of Excellence that boost the competitiveness of high growth and innovation potential sector(s) by facilitating access to innovation inputs;
– Lot 3: to support the establishment of an Innovation Hub that promotes and strengthens the innovation culture and facilitates innovation demand and supply matchmaking

Priorities
* Placing the private sector at the center of innovation development;
* Supporting demand for solutions as the primary driver of innovation development;
* Recognizing knowledge as a central input fostering enterprise competitiveness through innovation;
* Strengthening linkages and partnerships;
* Supporting actions that enhance the active participation of women in the innovation cycle;
* Generating additionality and complementarity by building-on the existing innovation ecosystem
* Demonstrating the viability and replicability of the actions implemented;
*Letting the specific definition of innovation and projects performance indicators left to the applicants’ discretion

Among financed actions
* Lot 1
– Development of intense scale-up programmes, cohort development and customized support; 
– Development of human capital at executive and leadership level, interim management support and training on growth processes;
– Support to intellectual property right (IPR) management, licensing agreements, franchising, accreditation, conformity assessment aimed at facilitating market penetration

* Lot 2
– Analyses and studies of specific sector value chains;
– Adoption of the latest technological and innovative solutions facilitating the formulation and promotion of sector innovative value propositions;
– Companies’ access to knowledge

* Lot 3
– Promotion of a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through curricula development, or training delivery, and strategic innovation communications activities;
– Development, acquisition and commercial exploitation of innovative products, process or services nationally & internationally;
– Access to innovation financing

Additional information

* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In the first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the action: 36 months

* Eligibility:
– Be a legal person;
– Be a Jordanian registered private sector entity;
– Be established in Jordan or in an eligible country as defined by the European Neighbourhood Instrument;
– For lot 1 and 3: the lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s);
– For lot 2: the lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s)

– The actions must take place in Jordan
