Amorce:

The global objective of this call for proposals is to improve education and individual development of children and youth and to foster resilience of the Syrian population. 

Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
– Lot 1: To enhance attendance in basic education and to improve psycho-social well-being of children most affected by the conflict in opposition-held areas in Syria
– Lot 2: To improve the skills, resilience and social inclusion of adolescents and young people through education, psycho-social support, community involvement and peace-building dialogue in opposition-held areas in Syria

Among financed actions
Lot 1:
– Provide basic teaching and learning materials (school bags, stationery and textbooks) in selected schools or communities, as part of an integrated education package
– Rehabilitate school buildings or provide alternative safe schooling spaces
– Organise training and (when duly justified by the situation) provide monthly stipends for teachers, head-teachers and school staff
– Offer remedial education and catch-up classes to children in need
– Offer self-learning options if appropriate and effective
Lot 2:
– Assess the options for provision of upper secondary education and links or integration with basic education programmes
– Provide teaching and learning materials according to the specific needs, in selected schools or communities, as part of an integrated education package
– Rehabilitate school buildings or provide alternative safe schooling spaces
– Organise training and (when duly justified by the situation) provide monthly stipends for teachers, head teachers and school staff
– Offer remedial education to students where necessary
