Priorities and funded actions:

* To develop the area into an innovative, research and knowledge-based, sustainable and inclusive place of innovation, where natural resources are protected and the green economy is stimulated

* Technological and social innovation:
– Improve the framework conditions for the delivery of innovation, in relation to smart specialization;
– Increase the delivery of innovation in smart specialisation sectors;
– Increase the development of social innovation applications in order to make more efficient and effective local services to address the key societal challenges in the 2 Seas area
* Low carbon technologies:
– Increase the adoption of low-carbon technologies and applications in sectors that have the potential for a high reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
* Adaptation to climate change:
– Improve the ecosystem-based capacity of 2 Seas stakeholders to climate change and its associated water-related effects
* Resource efficient economy:
– Increase the adoption of new solutions for a more efficient use of natural resources and materials;
– Increase the adoption of new circular economy solutions in the 2 Seas area

Among financed actions
* Business support-oriented projects and training activities, when relevant;
* Projects delivering both social innovation and inclusion;
* Cross-border cooperation on transferable projects on investment projects (e.g. housing renovation);
* Cross-border and transferable industrial research projects;
* Implementation applications to improve the adaptation capacity; 
* Projects that lead to the reduction of the use of the resources;
* Projects that reinforce the institutional framework conditions, the capacity of business, public bodies and other stakeholders in society to adopt new models and approaches and implement circular economy solutions
