This call for proposals aims to support research and development of new antiviral drugs and vaccines.

Priorities and funded actions:

* This call is divided in 5 topics

Topic 1: Vaccine development Phase I, II, and III

Objective: To design and implementation of Phase I, II, or III clinical development of vaccine candidates

Among financed actions
– To set up a Central Information Repository for the Ebola+ programme for sharing results, learnings and data both amongst Ebola+ partners and with the outside community
– To set up an Ethics Board

Topic 2: Manufacturing capability

Objective: To scale up the currently available production techniques to the necessary scale

Among financed actions
To help provide the necessary scientific, technical and regulatory 

Topic 3: Stability of vaccines during transport and storage

Objective: To develop tools and technologies to be able to distribute current Ebola vaccine candidates

Among financed actions
– Stability testing 
– Supporting analytical capabilities to be applied at all stages of the shipping, storage and deployment process

Topic 4: Deployment and compliance of vaccination regimens

Objective : To develop technologies and tools that augment the adherence to the vaccination regimen at individual level

Among financed actions
– Mobile communication strategies to increase awareness, acceptance and subject recruitment in the vaccination campaigns

Topic 5: Rapid diagnostic tests

Objective: To develop rapid diagnostics to detect EVD at acceptable costs and with very high sensitivity and specificity

– Validating existing tests 
– Expanding the use of tools currently being developed, through clinical validation to registration and launch
