This call for proposals aims to improve the sustainability of production process.

Priorities and funded actions:

The call is divided in 4 TOPICS
 
* TOPIC 1: New adaptable catalytic reactor methodologies for Process Intensification  (3 000 000 – 6 000 000 euro per project)

Objective
To  develop new adaptable reactor concepts to reduce the number of process steps and unit operations for industrially relevant processes

Among financed actions
The design of a reactor equipment in close co-operation of the engineering and equipment manufacturing sectors with process industries
The evaluation of the impact of new process solutions through process modeling

* TOPIC 2:  Energy and resource management systems for improved efficiency in the process industries (3 000 000 – 6 000 000 euro per project)

Objective
– To implement a single management system of all the environmental, energy and economic factors to improve the efficiency of the process industries.

Among financed actions
– Development of an analysis and optimisation tools for flexible energy use and material flow integration,
– Development of standards-based software for measuring critical footprint issues and relevant data used into the daily routine of the plants/clusters
– Prototypes and pilot implementations in real industrial settings represent a clear added-value.

*TOPIC 3: Recovery technologies for metals and other minerals (6 000 000 – 10 000 000 euro per project)

Objective
– To develop innovative technologies for minerals and metals treatment from solid, gaseous and/or liquid waste streams.

Among financed actions
-Development of new approaches for the design and scale up of industrial processes.
– Demonstration activities in industrial environments aimed at proving the industrial relevance and feasibility of the proposed technologies

* TOPIC 4: Solids handling for intensified process technology (6 000 000 -10 000 000 per project)

Objective
– To  develop fast and flexible processes that allow for design and development of tailor-made products while keeping the time-to-market as short as possible.

–  Control of agglomeration
–  Reduction of fouling and Cleaning concepts, e.g. CIP
–  Solid separation and recycling
