This call for proposals aims to develop mobility for growth.

Priorities and funded actions:

This call for proposals is divided in 7 topics

* Topic 1 Enhancing resource efficiency of aviation
Objectives: Develop significant improvements to aircraft

Among financed actions
– Actions could target the reduction of emissions and noise at the source
– New approaches to an environmentally friendly overall aircraft lifecycle which require the insertion of the environmental concern in all the successive phases
– The integration of larger quantities of sustainable fuels and better use of power from the terminal

* Topic 2 Safe and connected automation in road transport
Objectives: To provide an answer to the EU objective of reconciling growing mobility needs with more efficient transport operations, lower environmental impacts and increased road safety

Among financed actions
– Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to support drivers in accident avoidance and to mitigate the consequences of collisions
– To create tools to detect and measure undesirable or unusual driver condition (such as drowsiness) and warn
– Dissemination and take-up of results

* Topic 3 System modelling and life-cycle cost optimisation for waterborne assets
Objectives: To have minimal total costs over the useful economic life of the product

Among financed actions:
– To system integration and optimisation for vessels
– Achieve measurable cost reductions in design, production and lifetime maritime asset management

* Topic 4 Strengthening the knowledge and capacities of local authorities
Objectives: To adopt new strategic transport planning approaches at the local level

Among financed actions:
– Instruments and mechanisms for information exchange to assist them in preparing and implementing SUMPs
– Enhancing the capacities of local authorities and other stakeholders to successfully plan and implement innovative sustainable mobility measures

* Topic 5 Demonstrating and testing innovative solutions for cleaner and better urban transport and mobility
Objectives: To support effectively the cities’ efforts to follow a viable path towards sustainable mobility

Among financed actions:
– Tools to support local planning and policy making. A demonstrated contribution to the development or revision of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans
– To facilitate cooperation between stakeholders involved in the projects under this topic, and from across CIVITAS 2020

* Topic 6 Common communication and navigation platforms for pan-European logistics applications
Objectives: To develop architectures and open systems for information sharing and valorisation

Among financed actions:
– Solutions to enable actors to take fast and well-informed decisions inside and cross-companies
– Mobile communications for secured information exchange among actors

* Topic 7 Smart governance, network resilience and streamlined delivery of infrastructure innovation
Objectives: To overcome the lack of a common framework for governance, management and finance of transport infrastructure projects

Among financed actions:
– Development of whole system planning environments to support the streamlined delivery of infrastructure projects from concept to deployment. In this respect, the rail sector deserves particular attention
– Solutions for optimal cost-effectiveness
