The present call for proposals aims at funding projects addressing the implementation of the EU CBRN Action Plan (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear), the EU Action Plan on enhancing the security of explosives and the European programme of critical infrastructure protection.
Priorities and funded actions:
1. Priority: Training
Sub-priority: a) Development of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear, as well as
Explosive (CBRN-E) training programmes to build capacity of actors involved in the detection and mitigation of CBRN-E risks which have cross-border and cross-sector elements
Sub-priority: b) Improvement of law enforcement training facilities, especially
2. Priority: Common procedures, recommendations, standards and certification
Sub-priority: a) Development of common procedures for handling of CBRN-E materials, preferentially with a view to establishing European-wide standards or certification schemes
Sub-priority: b) Capacity building in testing and evaluation of Radiological and Nuclear detection equipment and verification of their compliance with standard by establishing a network of European testing laboratories, paving the way towards a European certification scheme for detection equipment
Sub-priority: c) Development of guidance documents, manuals or recommendations in order to enhance CBRN-E security
3. Priority: Dealing with insider threat issues through awareness building, best practice sharing, guidance development and other activities, which could contribute to insider threat mitigation in particular in critical infrastructures
Among financed activities
– Projects promoting networking, public-private partnerships, mutual confidence, understanding and learning, identification and dissemination of best practices and innovative approaches at Union level, training and exchange programmes
– The acquisition, maintenance and/or further upgrading of technical equipment, expertise, secure facilities, infrastructures, related buildings and systems
