The overall objective of this call for proposals aims at improving local public social services for vulnerable groups in the peri-urban areas of Tirana.

Priorities and funded actions:

Priorities
To support the Municipality of Tirana to:
– establish a detailed management concept and structures for the Multi-Functional Community Centre (MFCC)
– develop a long-term action plan for social activities
– deliver training to a group of local staff – both at Tirana Municipality, and the local community and ensure a sustainable functioning after project activities have ended
With a particular reference to Roma and Egyptian communities

Among financed actions
– Establishing a detailed management concept and structures for the MFCC
– Developing a long-term action plan for social activities
– Preventing of school drop-out, reintegration of street children and fight against child labour and begging
– Working with social centres at the Municipality to support Youth Roma Groups, offering them trainings to help their community
– Improvement of access to basic services, including education and health care for people in poverty condition
– Creative circles for arts, handicrafts or music
