Priorities and funded actions:

* To support the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and to improve their role in the accession of the Republic of Albania in the European Union

* Assess the attitudes of the Albanian public for the EU accession process and design programmes/activities that increase awareness and support for the accession process;
* Provide studies/analyses and design measures/plans programmes, that support the accession process in fields such as human rights, anti-corruption, environment, energy, consumer protection, etc, in order to achieve the EU standards;
* Build partnerships with CSOs in order to engage them in the European Integration process and particularly in the understanding, monitoring and adaption of the EU Acquis;
* Initiate and encourage the inclusion and contribution of CSOs in the expected Albania– EU accession negotiations process

Among financed actions
* Actions which will raise accountability of the government (overall public institutions) towards the EU accession process and the EU institutions;
* Actions that encourage and support the involvement of CSOs, especially grass-roots organisations, in the EU accessions process, including eventual participation in the structures of the Albania – EU negotiation process;
* Capacity-raising of various public and private organisations on the possibilities of EU funding (structural funds, regional cooperation, rural development, human rights, Civil Society support) and information on the effects of the EU assistance in Albania;
* Actions that provide concrete examples on how are implemented the obligations deriving from the transposition of the acquis, into the life of the citizens and their impact;
* Actions that support research, capacity building and advocacy activities on specific thematic areas of EU acquis (as provided within the 35 chapters), legislation approximation process, costs, implications and trade-offs to protect interests of the country targeting various target groups (youth, businesses, farmers, public administration at central and local level);
* Actions that promote policy analysis and regulatory impact assessments (RIA) on costs of the adoption of laws and regulations related to EU legislation approximation;
* Actions to support collaboration between media and civil society, think tanks to promote free speech and opinion, diversity and public debates on policy processes and EU integration;
* Actions for enhanced access to information on public administration services, budgeting processes, decision making, and local government functions in the view of EU accession;
* Actions to support public awareness-raising campaign to present new opportunities for involvement of citizens, CSOs and the interested public in consultations on new public policies and EU accession process

* This is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project: Between 12 and 18 months

* Eligibility
– Be a legal person;
– Be non-profit-making;
– Be: a civil society organisation, such as non-governmental organisations (NGOs);
– Be established in the Republic of Albania, in an EU Member State, an EEA Member State or accession or official candidate country;
– Applicants for grants under lot 2 must act with at least one co-applicant; applicants for grants under lot 1 may act individually or with a co-applicant;
– Non-Albanians applicants must act with a co-applicant legally established in Albania;
– Actions must take place in Albania
