Priorities and funded actions:

Objective
* To improve the protection of public spaces and other soft targets in line with the EU Action Plan to support the protection of public spaces

Priorities
* Development and implementation of the good practices listed in the Commission Staff Working Document “Good practices to support the protection of public spaces” in the areas of:
– Vulnerability assessments and planning;
– Awareness and training;
– Physical protection;
– Coordination and cooperation between public and private stakeholders
* Enhancing protection of public spaces, urban areas and other soft targets via development, implementation and roll-out of new security solutions, trainings, exercises, sharing of best practices and awareness raising activities

Among financed actions
* Overview of suitable available and future technologies touse in an open public space without being intrusive or diminishing the open nature of it;
* Testing;
* Implementing and rolling out new technologies;
* Guidance on the use of technology;
* Integration of technology in a broader security concept;
* Developing concepts and providing concrete actions as regards security;
* Public-private partnerships: joint exercises, and training programmes;
* Tools for communication;
* Exchanges of information and best practices

Additional information
* This call for proposals is an open call for proposals

* Initial duration of the action: up to 24 months

* Eligibility:
– Public bodies;
– Non-profit-making private entities;
– Profit making entities;
– International organisations;
– With the exception of international organisations, applicants and co-applicants must be established in one of the Member States of the European Union with the exception of Denmark and the United Kingdom;
– The following entities can only apply as co-applicants: international organisations

– Applications must involve at least two eligible entities established in two different Member States participating in the ISF Police instrument
