Priorities and funded actions:

Objectives
* Improving the coordination of National and European research in several marine and maritime sectors; 
* Improving and harmonizing the priorities of funding programmes;
* Foster the implementation of transnational cooperation to tackle complex projects which cannot be accomplished by one nation alone;
* Improve chances for transnational innovative projects to enter new markets;
* Bring a cross-cutting perspective in technology development that can lead to innovative projects of benefiting more than one sector;
* Create critical mass and focus excellence on precompetitive breakthroughs, which can benefit marine and maritime industries in general and make them more competitive in the longer term, thereby maintaining Europe’s competitive edge;
* Address the needs for technologies in marine and maritime operations

Priorities
* PA1: Developing environmentally friendly maritime technologies in order to reduce CO2 emission, to improve energy efficiency, to develop advanced technologies for the use of new fuels and innovative propulsion systems;
* PA2: Developing novel materials and structures for economic and environmental sustainable renewable energy from sea such as technologies for extraction of oil and gas in rough and ice-covered areas as well as extreme water depths and autonomous underwater production and extraction systems for oil and gas;
* PA3: Developing sensors, automation, monitoring and observations in order to create improved models for marine vehicles and structures behaviour;
* PA4: Optimising the production of improved and novel production technologies for flexible manufacturing, with focus on organization and networking along the value chain;
* PA5: Harmonising safety and security concepts for maritime operations so as to develop ICT tools for monitoring and optimization of maritime operations

Additional information
* This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated

* Initial duration of the project: up to 36 months (except for Turkey, which does not apply any duration limit)

* Eligibility
– Project consortia consisting of at least two independent eligible legal entities from at least two different European Member States or associated countries can apply for funding. Legal entities/consortia from Belarus are eligible for funding as well but they must have in their consortia at least two independent eligible legal entities from at least two different European Member States or associated countries
– The project proposals must involve industry
– Eligibility specific criteria depend on the participating country. See the national guidelines.
